Day 75 of Smilemakers around you – Committing a lifetime for adult education
She started her career 24 years ago, teaching poor working adults at the municipal night school, and has now become their headmistress.
Her small height and feeble looking frame belies her strong personality and huge contributions.
She proved people wrong who were skeptical of her ability to control the students who even came from anti-social backgrounds.
She went ahead with new teaching techniques which were ultimately incorporated in other municipal schools.
She has managed to convince many potential dropouts to continue their studies and thereby make it big in life.
Her passionate recollection of the success stories of her past adult students made me smile.
