Day 330 of small things giving smiles  – full attention to paint a small lamp

Day 330 of small things giving smiles – full attention to paint a small lamp.

Have you ever been proud of your ability to multitask. In these days when everyone is in a hurry, do you think that it is best to do more things at a time? I request you a stop and take time out to stand and stare. Yes, go ahead and do something that requires your 100% attention..like painting a small lamp!

So there I was volunteering in the summer vacation painting workshop for slum children. And I had to complete painting a pair of clay lamps that were left unfinished by a slum child.

This was one of the most relaxing experience of the otherwise overhectic day. For the next twenty minutes, as I dipped the paint brush into the bright colours, my complete attention was only on the two tiny lamps.

And at the end of the endeavour there was a sense of satisfaction for this burst of creativity.

As I placed my lamps along with the many others painted at the slim kids workshops I realized how a simple attention involving activity can give the mind so much of peace…painting ensures that my mind stays in the present only..without bothering of the past or worrying about the future.

I smile with satisfaction at my painted lamps, you tòo can have the same relaxing experience!

So which small thing made you smile today? Please become aware of small things that make you smile!
