Day 336 of small things giving smiles – the magic of a glass painting
How many times have you visited a friends place and stared absent – mindedly at something on the wall? And then you change your seat and you change your angle and you still feel drawn towards the same thing on the wall?
A similar thing happened to me at a friends place. I was sitting across the far end of the room and somehow got attracted to the bright colours of Lord Jesus on a stained glass portrait. This was a peaceful Lord who seemed to be directly staring at me on the right side of the room.
And when I got up and sat on the left side of the room, the Lord turned his mesmerising eyes to the left side and again beckoned me in a loving way.
I got up and walked around, refusing to be swayed away by my overactive imagination.
And then again I just had to look at that serene face. The beard and the long hair..was that my son on the wall?
Finally I gave up my resistance to the pull..I just surrendered to the endearing energy of the place..I gazed again and again into those eyes..
And yes it was one of my most memorable evenings..And no I am not a Catholic by religion..as long as I get connected to a higher power, that is all that matters!
The smile that the painting gave me was something I will cherish for life.
