Day 372 of trivial things during travel that can give you smiles – intense group drumming beats that bring out the free spirit among the crowds
Have you ever been a part of a drum beat circle? It is a session where a group of people bang simultaneously on an African cone shaped drum called django guided on to a rhythmic beat by an expert.
The rhythm of the drum beat may start on a slow mode and the tempo may increase slowly till it becomes a very fast paced burst of banging energy!
Frankly words cannot describe the high impact, sound vibrational energy of the place. In Montreal this set up is called the Tam Tams and happens every Sunday during the good weather season at the Monument park.
We just start with banging on our drums and letting go of our pent up emotions! And then we join the public in dancing to the beats. There are no rules regarding the style of dance! You just follow your heart and on an auto mode, you will find yourself doing whatever you feel like as you match the rhythm of the beats!
I had no clue for how long I danced with the crowd in gay abandon in the hot sun! And then I switched places with my husband and again started banging on the drums for a long time, this time with my eyes closed!
It was such a pleasure to see the crowds of all nationalities swaying to the live drum beats and dressed in whatever caught their fancy!
The smiles of free spirit on the faces of the crowds is something that I will always remember the next time I feel sense!
So become aware of your travel experience that may seem trivial but gives you a big thrill?
Please become aware of trivial things during your travel giving you thrilling smiles!
