In 2018 do notice these simple smiling moments of daily life Day 181

A rainy day of bliss with nature at Khondivedi village

It is rainy season and an ideal time to to take a day trip out of the city. Just a few minutes after you step out of the concrete jungle of Mumbai, you can be surrounded with an abundance of natural greenery.

After a three hour pleasant bus drive with happy picnikers and amazing scenery we finally reached Kondivedi village on the banks of the Ulhas river, just off the Karjat road.

The approach road to the village, was flanked by pristine greenery and water bodies on both sides. But what caught my attention was around 8-10 mounds of green land masses in the middle of the waters. Even the flowing river had bigger round land masses in the middle. Whether natural formations or man-made, it did not matter, I just wondered how it would feel to be perched up alone on a small island by oneself!

As we crossed the village, directed by a local guide, it was a lesson by itself to observe the contentment on the faces of the children and even the adults of the village. They seemed to be at peace along with their chickens and cows and other domestic animals.

We were in search of a secluded water body to soak ourselves in the rains. After an up and down trek on a slippery slopy pathway, we suddenly came in front of a freshwater fast moving stream.

Almost all of us of all ages, just had to take a complete dip in the swirling waters. At that moment I became aware of my connection with all the elements of nature- earth, water, fire, air and space… It was pure bliss and surrender into the lap of mother nature!

As we made our way back to the bus, I realised that there were so many unexplored pristine natural places in our country that are waiting to be experienced just as they are.

So in 2018, do notice these simple smiling moments.Have a smiling year!
