Jumping up and down with the best ever waves at one of Asia’s best beaches – Radhanagar beach!
White clean sand, blue clear waters, lunch tropical trees swaying in the sea breeze, amazing white necklace of lovely foamy lashing on the shores… It was time to leave behind all the cares in the world and literally soak in the beauty of the Radhanagar beach on Have lock island of the Andamans.
Only when I went there I realized why this Radhanagar beach was once voted as the best beach of Asia.
It is also called as beach no. 7 as it had also once been voted as the 7th best beach in the world.
We reached the beach in a bus that was literally stitched together due to limited grarage facilities on this island. The swaying palm trees gave a beautiful backing drop to the combination of the sun, sea and sky.
It was natural that I along with few brave friends just had to get completely drenched into the inviting waters.
As I watched some other ladies, gingerly getting their feet wet, I boldly splashed water onto their heads, and pulled them into the deeper yet safe part of the waters.
Suddenly a huge wave toppled all us ladies with such force that for a few seconds we gasp with sea water in our mouths. And this kind of cheeky recklessness in the waters was a first time experience for most of the other ladies. They were actually thankful for my initiative them into this crazy world of wave bashing.
Emboldened by this, I tried to pull my favourite Aunty into the deeper part with the common instruction to just jump along with huge waves…oops… the jumping led to her muscle catch and for the rest of the trip, I was praying that she recovers well.
We were in the water waves for more than two hours, not minding the shining sun. Some of the waves seemed to lash at a height of over 10 get and I learnt a new trick of holding my breath and sucking under the wave for another crazy experience.
Yes it was a memorable experience of jumping up and down with the waves, and even on the shore I jumped up and down in my quest for the perfect photo opportunity!
The experience of the the amazing waves of Radhanagar beach shall always bring a smile to my face.
So in 2018 do notice these simple smiling moments. Have a smiling year!
