The amazing colours of the Kala pattar beach.
When our guide told us that we would be visiting a beach where we could not enter the water due to the dangerous black stones under the waves on the shore, I wondered what was the point in going to such a beach.
But my curiosity was aroused when he said that this beach was perfect for photo opportunities.
And how right he was. I just stopped in my tracks, as it was the most colorful ocean that I had ever seen in my life!
Starting from the white and cream coloured sands, the water suddenly get shades of light green to dark green, then again has shades of light blue to dark blue to a line of black too, because of the variety of stones and other sea life below the waves.
I was on a mode of trying to remember the names of the 16 different new couples that I had met in the last three days, so I tried to take as many photos with every one of them as I could.
I checked out the shops selling local shell, pearl and coral items and just had to have some lovely coconut water.
And then I went on a solo walk to discover the other side of the beach, which had some artistic looking deadwood trees of different shapes and sizes on the sands, Yes I just had to take some great pictures on them.
The combined colours of trees, sands, ocean waters, sky and me was just too good to bring a smile to the senses.
So in 2018 do notice these simple smiling moments. Have a smiling year!
