In 2018 do notice these simple smiling moments of daily life Day 334

Romping with a straw fight on the hay stack on the way to Kelva beach

The advantage of going on long drives with only women is that we can give into our whims and fancies and stop wherever we want to do whatever we want!

So we were on the way to Kelva beach, and it was an unplanned stop at a huge haystack that we saw on the way.

We had the whole place to ourselves and first made our way from the ground level to the top of the pile. This is easier said than done, and it was fun climbing up as our feet kept getting deeper and deeper inside the hay pile.

It was a connection to earth feeling as we just let go and slumped into the comforting cushioning of the huge amount of hay around us!

And then it happened suddenly. We just had an impromptu hay fight. As we kept thulping each other with hay swords, the laughter was uncontrollable. Then it got even more physically funny as I got almost buried under what seemed like mounds and mounds of hay.

As we posed victoriously on top of the hay stack with hay swords in the scorching sun, we felt like valiant heroines having done something that we had never done before!

And then it suddenly started. As we got back to the car, we got an unbearable itching and hurting at all the places where our bare skin had touched the hay! Now we knew why people do not go romping on hay stacks, this was a terrible allergic skin rash reaction.

Luckily my trusted antiseptic cream Boroline saved the day and soothed this straw related unbearable skin rash.

We did have a lovely local lunch at Kelva beach, and just saw the beach from afar…we couldn’t risk any any more skin abrasions for the day!

All in all it was a memorable tryst with the hay stack that will always bring a smile to our faces.

So in 2018 do notice these simple smiling moments.Have a smiling year!
