When a child touches your feet after a workshop.
It was just a random call to a friend for another reason. And then thanks to him, just 13 hours later, I found myself as part of their week long inauguration ceremony and I was ready to conduct a workshop at a school hall.
After a long time I was working with teenage school children. It was a pleasure to be a part of their enthusiasm and to observe the differences in each of their skills.
As trainers, it is very difficult for us to gauge our impact on the audience, other than whatever they say or write as an immediate feedback after the workshop.
In the end, it was the happy excited chatter that made the whole experience absolutely one of value.
As each of the students wished me a personal thank you goodbye, I gave a silent prayer in my head for them to bloom and grow!
And then suddenly, one of the boys bent down to touch my feet. I was caught off guard, and didn’t expect this at all. It was a lesson of humility that I got from him at that moment. It was a tribute to his value filled upbringing. It was a moment that touched my heart knowing that some big shift for the better must have happened in his perception!
His spontaneous act acknowledging my contribution to his life, made me smile.
So in 2018 do notice these simple smiling moments. Have a smiling year!
