Day 246 of Indian places giving smiles – Miani – Harsadhi mata temple
Soon after we left Dwarka on the way to Porbander, just at the break of dawn we were fascinated with the number of birds flying in formation against the backdrops of many windmills across the road. At a very small village called Miani, our driver pointed out to a temple on top of a hill. He recommended that we visit the place as its presiding Goddess Harsiddhi Mata was auspiciously revered by the local people.
As we climbed up the steps of the Koyla Dangar hill, we could clearly watch the mesmerizing sight of the sun rising above the sea. The view after the long was unbelievably beautiful! Lord Krishna Himself worshipped Harsiddhi mata and she is supposed to be the family Goddess of the Yadava clan. As I prayed to the powerful idol of Harsaddhi Devi, I could actually sense the divine energy of the place.
.
I noticed another idol of a man and was told it was that of Jagdu Seth, the person who is supposed to have been built the present temple at this spot after his ship was saved from the rough seas just below the temple.
