Day 308 of personal insights giving smiles – Steps to become conscious about managing your mind into mindfulness.
- Enthusiasm : Be enthusiastic about wanting to manage your mind. Whether your mind is passionate or tense about something… you unconsciously radiate your enthusiasm or your tension in your workplace.
- Awareness : Its okay for both positive and negative thoughts to go in and out of your mind…however, be aware that positive thoughts can empower you to produce desired results and negative beliefs can disempower you.
- Mind Involvement : Pay great attention, get completely involved and interpret the situation carefully. Keep checking if you are both physically and mentally present to whats happening around you. Focus on the present instead of relying on past perceptions, stereotypes and notions.
- Reaction : Be aware that there is no such thing as a good situation or a bad situation. The incident may not be in your control…but your mental reaction to the incident is totally in your control.

- Balance : Develop the skill to look at the situation through a different angle, so that you balance your negative and positive thoughts.
Whether fire is terribly dangerous or fire is terribly useful depends on from how close you are looking at it.
- Intelligence to recognize mental blocks : Imperfect past incidents give rise to
negative feelings and mental blocks which drain your energy. You need to have the intelligence to recognize these emotional dramas of your mind. Unwanted thoughts, desires and memories need to to be analyzed and dropped out of the mind as only an open mind will give you the potential to change the very situation that you are in.
- Just because a colleague raised his voice once, you decide that you can never work with him on a team project and you may miss out on the opportunity to jointly create a brilliant creative advertising campaign.
- Check your positive quotient : Along with your thoughts, check whether your words and deeds are positive in nature. Are they of any use to you or others?
- If you use slang language when talking to a co-worker in office, it is of no benefit to anyone in particular.
