Day 339 of small things giving big smiles – acting silly in a tigers costume.

Have you ever experienced the pleasure of dancing with gay abandon? I used to always admire the agility of festive street dancers who just enjoy swaying to the beat of the music without bothering about what people thought of them!
I had a similar chance to take part in a festive tiger dance during a cultural event. The practice sessions at my home were fun sessions..and when we all wore our costumes I didnt know whether to laugh or to cry.

I initially felt like crying because we looked so ridiculous and funny as tigers! And then I decided to laugh because that was the exact purpose of our tiger dance..to make people laugh!

Yes, I walked boldly through the audience tables with perfect aplomb, matching my steps to the lively heat of the loud music.

As the pace of the music got faster and more of the audience joined us on stage..it was like a free for all completely self expressive tiger dancing..just like the ones we saw in our native streets!

And it did not matter if I looked fat..how may times have you seem a skinny tiger anyway?

The smiles on the faces of the audience was priceless and that was all that mattered!

So which small thing gave you a big smile today ?
Please become aware of small things that give you smiles!
