Do you realize how lucky you are just to live in a free country? If you were born just a few decades earlier, this freedom would not be easily available to you.
Imagine a child born in a simple home in Ratnagiri amidst simple surroundings, who was just like you or me at birth. Imagine him coming to terms with the difficult environment of those times..yet having the courage to declare- ‘Freedom is my birthright and I shall have it’.
Yes, it is the effort of many known and unknown people like Lokmanya Tilak which has given us the freedom that we have today. So it was a great moment of thrill for me to be actually visiting the traditional home where the great leader Tilak waa born and where he spent the first 10 years of his life.
