The merging of the muddy brown Sutlej river with the clear blue melted snow waters of the Spiti river
We had learnt in school that when the snow melts from the mountain tops, they flow down into small streams and then form a river.
It was a sight for us to watch from a vantage point on a bridge how two rivers coming from different directions merged together and then flowed in unison in the valley below the majestic hills.
What made the sight more incredible was the different colours of the two rivers. One was the Sutlej, which had picked up the mud on the way and was brown in colour. However the Spiti river which was formed by the melted snow, flowing over clean stones and pebbles looked absolutely clear and fresh and blue.
There was a message for me of ‘going with the flow’ when I looked at the two contrasting colours of the river waters that made me smile.
So in 2018, do notice these simple smiling moments.Have a smiling year.
