Day 408 of new travel experiences giving smiles- pausing between the peak and base of the Theotivahucan pyramid in Mexico
Have you ever had the experience of climbing up a massive pyramid? And would you just stop in the middle for a time of reflection?
So on day 42 of our long trip we found ourselves exploring the Theothihuvacan pyramid of the sun at Mexico. While most of the crowds including my group were in a hurry to complete the feat of climbing the many steps from the base to the top…i decided to enjoy the journey to the peak at my own pace.
I took a break midway and stood at almost the edge of the pyramid for some time of contemplation.
Below me was the ruins of ancient city of the Aztec civilization …complete with its courtyards, temples, residential blocks the altered river courses…built painstakingly by human effort – big stone by big stone. Also the tiny stones laid again in between in accordance to a beautiful pattern completed the scene.
Above me was the majestic part of the pyramid rising towards the sun and the peak beckoning me with the promise of high spiritual energy.
Words cannot describe this moment of quiet bliss… in the vastness of the universe around me suddenly all the issues of the world seemed so insignificant.
I resumed my climb with a smile.
